Turtle
Hi!!
Welcome to another blog post by aprende crochet. This blog post is all about my velvet turtles. Tara is the turtle mom and she had 3 babies. Making this amigurumi was the funnest thing I’ve ever done. I learned a lot of things making this creation so I thought I’d teach them to you. The pattern for this amigurumi is not by me, it's by @allfromjade . If you click the button below it will take you to Etsy were you can purchase the pattern.
Velvet Yarn Insight
This amigurumi was the first amigurumi I’d ever made with velvet yarn. It was pretty hard to see each individual stitch but apart from that, I loved velvet yarn. I must say the soft result was definitely worth the effort. This turtle is my favorite amigurumi I’ve ever made.
Tips
The following stitch or techniques are the ones I will be showing you today.

How to crochet in chains
Hope you are excited to learn how to do these Stitches and Techniques so let's get started.
Invisible Decrease
Step 1:
Insert your hook into the front loop of the next stitch.
Step 2:
Now insert your hook into the front loop of the next stitch.
Step 3:
Yarn over and pull through the first two loops on your hook.
Step 4:
Yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops.
Invisible End
Step 1:
Finish whatever crochet piece you're making.
Step 2:
Thread your needle and skip one stitch the insert the needle into the next stitch under both loops.
Step 3:
From the outside insert your needle into the back loop of the last stitch in your project.
Step 4:
Now pull tight the yarn and you've completed the Invisible End.
Change color invisibility
Step 1:
Don't finish the last stitch of the round where you're going to switch colors. Instead when you're going to pull through the last two loops grab the new color, form a loop, and pull through.
Step 2:
Crochet a tight slip stitch in the next stitch.
Step 3:
Now chain one loosely. The chain and the slip stitch count as one stitch.
Step 4:
Continue that row normally and when your going to start the second row in your new color don't crochet in the slip stitch crochet in the chain.
How to crochet in chains
Step 1:
In the picture the arrow in point to where you should insert your hook. You have to insert it in between the chain.
Step 2:
Insert you're in between the chain.
Step 3:
Now yarn over and pull through completing whatever stitch you were crocheting.
When you crochet in chains it can be difficult to know where to insert your hook. I know that the first time I crocheted in chains it was a little difficult. I hope that after seeing the step-by-step tutorial on how to do it you're able to do it.
